EDINBURGH - VISITING SERVICES AND ACCOMMODATION LINKED SERVICES.
EDINBURGH VISITING SERVICES - What kinds of service you can expect : Carr-Gomm Scotland are committed to supporting people whatever their reason for needing support. The Edinburgh Visiting Service provides person-centred support, supported living and a range of community services to enable people to live in their own homes. Whether you live in a shared living situation or choose to live on your own we can provide a team of support workers who can support you.
Our approach aims to help you feel safe, confident and in control and for you to have people you trust who will put your needs first. The support can be for a small amount of regular contact (a few hours a week) up to 24 hour support over 7 days.
Once you are receiving a service from us you will be introduced to your key-worker who will meet with you on a regular basis to answer any questions you may have and help you develop your Support Agreement.
We can provide support with:
Personal Development: learning new things and pursuing interests
Emotional and/or Social Support: coping with ill-health or building relationships
Personal Care: all aspects of keeping yourself well and healthy
Practical Tasks: such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, budgeting.
Health: support with following
treatment programmes, contacting health staff and having someone who is aware
of your personal care.
Housing Issues : Carr-Gomm Scotland are not a housing association therefore we do not have our own housing to offer people. We do however work in partnership with a number of landlords who can help us find an appropriate tenancy for you. As people move on and no longer require our support there may be opportunities to move into a vacant tenancy in one of our existing services. Your social worker can also help you to find a tenancy.
EDINBURGH ACCOMMODATION LINKED SERVICES - These are supported and accommodation services provided for Carr-Gomm Scotland in the following locations of Edinburgh:
Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I Have To Pay For The Service? Your social worker will complete a financial assessment to identify whether or not you make a contribution to the Social Work Department for the services that they purchase on your behalf. You may have to pay for some of your support from your own money. Please do not let this put you off; many people receive the service free of charge or pay a minimum amount.

You should discuss the reasons for your decision with your support worker, social worker, health care professional or family. If for whatever reason you no longer want support from Carr-Gomm Scotland we can help you in identifying another support provider. This should not affect your right the continue living in your home.
Who can help me think about this or speak on my behalf? You may wish to invite important people in your life to assist you and your key-worker in developing your Support Agreement, the role that they have in your life can be included in this document. We aim to work in a person-centred way which helps you to identify your hopes for the future and plan to make them happen. This means that we will work with people important to you and other organisations. Most importantly you and the people important to you will have the opportunity to be involved in shaping the service you receive.
