CAMERON SERVICE- What kinds of service you can expect : Carr-Gomm Scotland are committed to supporting people whatever their reason for needing support. Our approach aims to help you feel safe, confident and in control and for you to have people you trust who will put your needs first. Once you are receiving a service from us you will be introduced to your key-worker who will work with you on a regular basis to answer any questions you have and help you develop your Support Agreement.

We can provide support with : Personal Development, learning new things and pursuing interests. Emotional and /or Social Support, coping with ill-health or building relations. Personal Care, all aspects of keeping yourself well and healthy. Practical Tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, budgeting. Health, support with the following treatment programmes, contacting health staff and having someone who is aware of your health care issues.

Everyone we support has their own Support Agreement. This document describes in detail the role we will have and the areas of support we will provide. You will have the opportunity to participate in developing your own Support Agreement. Your Support Agreement can be reviewed as and when your needs change.

EAST LOTHIAN SUPPORT SERVICE - What kinds of service you can expect : We support people who need support for whatever reason or whatever their age.  Visiting Support involves a support worker visiting you in your own home and provide you with the support you require.  A support worker can help you to get involved in your local community, support you with weekly shopping, cooking and budgeting, assist you with personal care, be there for you if you are feeling  vulnerable.  A support worker will also support you in fulfilling some of your aspirations in life, enabling YOU to make your own decisions.   This can be for 24 hours a day, daily visits or for 1 hour a week, depending on a Social Work assessment

Many of the policies we have include: Confidentiality, Risk Assessment Accidents, Incidents, Health & Safety, Medication, Protection from Abuse Advocacy, Management of Service Users’ Finances

You can expect your rights of  choice, control, openness, honesty, respect to be fully met in your support service. Furthermore if you are supported by our service , we would like you to: Be at home when a support worker is visiting, to be open and honest and to take an active role in creating your own Support Agreement.

Housing Issues : Carr-Gomm Scotland is not a housing association therefore we do not have our own housing to offer people.   We do, however, work in partnership with a number of landlords who can help us find an appropriate tenancy for you.  As people move on no longer require our support there may be opportunities to move into a vacant tenancy in one of our existing services.  Your social worker can also help you to find a tenancy.

There is another leaflet which explains how to do this.

We aim to work in a person-centred way, which helps you to identify your hopes for the future and plan to make them happen.   This means that we will work with people important to you, will have the opportunity to be involved in shaping the service you receive.
