   Our Vision, Mission & Aims

Vision
Carr-Gomm Scotland is committed to a society, which, in its values, public policies and individual actions respects, encourages and supports everyone to take control of their own lif

Mission
Carr-Gomm Scotland’s Mission is to contribute to achieving its Vision through the example of our services that are person-centred, inclusive and maximise the control people using them have; and through taking part in public debate to influence policies and people’s actions.

Our supported living services are for all adults, throughout their lives and at times of change, for as long or as short a time as wanted. We also provide community care services that play a part in enabling people to lead their lives, including, following treatment plans.

We will:

  • work together with the people using our services, people close to them, communities and other organisations; and
  • carry out the full range of support work to enable people to lead their lives, respond to challenges and fulfil their hopes and aspirations.

Support Work includes, amongst others: emotional support, personal care, developing activities, interests & social relationships, linking people into other services and communities, managing risks safely, looking after a home, budgeting, medication & treatment programmes, checking, being there in difficult times, enjoying life, reflecting back and planning for the future.

Aims

  1. To provide person-centred services to meet our Mission and Business Plan.
  2. To develop and sustain a distinctive Carr-Gomm Scotland culture that applies our values, respects people, is person-centred while taking account of constraints, risks & the difficult things in life, is committed, reliable, problem solving, straightforward, can do, flexible, reflective, fair, honest, acknowledges mistakes, is willing to take responsibility and balances & resolves different pressures.
  3. To meet standards that are set for our services and for us as an employer. These standards are set by ourselves with our philosophy and culture, by the people who use our services, and by those who commission & regulate our services.
  4. To work with organisations and people to meet our shared objectives in terms of:
    • delivering services; and
    • understanding and influencing national and local policies and attitudes.
  5. To develop an organisation that is open, inclusive, involves and learns from people who use the services and other people important to them.
  6. To develop an organisation that is open, encourages learning, develops skills and involves staff and company members.
  7. To promote the organisation and be able to demonstrate the outcomes and successes of our work.
