Images of Support Work With over 10 years experience we remain committed to:
  • striving for a person-centred approach in our work;
  • continuing as an organisation of people who engage with the services (and bring income into the company), their relatives, staff and others who want to support our aims;
  • developing and running supported living services through contracts with councils; and
  • building a community development approach and initiatives to include people involved in the supporting living services and their communities.
Our website is an integral part of communicating our work, experience and opportunities throughout Scotland.

Care Commission Grades

StarsBetween April 2008 and May 2009 all our services completed a self assessment using the Care Commission criteria that links to the National Care Standards. Overall 87% of our grades are either very good (5) or excellent (6).

There are four Quality Themes in the criteria:

•    Quality of Care & Support,
•    Quality of Environment,
•    Quality of Staffing, and
•    Quality of Management & Leadership;

After we have provided the evidence for each Quality Theme, we were graded between 1 [unsatisfactory] and 6 [excellent] for each theme.

If you would like to know more about this process ask your Key Worker or go to www.carecommission.com

Richard Carr-Gomm OBE

Carr-Gomm Scotland were saddened to learn of the death of Richard Carr-Gomm at the age of 86.  He founded three charities including the Carr-Gomm Society which Carr-Gomm Scotland was part of until 2002 when we became a separate charity. In late April there was a Service of Thanksgiving celebrating Richard's remarkable life at which Carr-Gomm Scotland was represented. You can read about the service on the Times Online. You can read more about Richard's remarkable life supporting other people in his Obituary in the Telegraph.
